Abstract
Objective To investigate the selection of surgical approach for lateral ventricle meningiomas and the microsurgical treatment.Methods The clinical data of 14 patients with lateral ventricle meningiomas admitted in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed.Results Total removal was achieved in all 14 cases and no one died from operation.There was obvious improvement in 10 cases,visual field defect occurred in 3 cases,sensory aphasia occurred in 1 case.Thirteen cases got followed up,visual field defect occurred in 3 cases,sensory aphasia occurred in 1 case,decrescence of myodynamia occurred in 1 case,hydrocephalus occurred in 1 case at 6 months after the initial operation,no recurrence was found.Conclusions Individually chosen of proper approach and using of microsurgery may improve the treatment effect for lateral ventricle meningiomas.
