Abstract

In the present work we visualized the cracks in the {100} type planes which areformed during the oxygenation of top-seeded melt-grown (TSMG) YBCO bulksuperconductors and counted their spacing end length. Both parameters of the oxygenationa/c-cracks depend on the distance from the seed. Changes of fracture toughnesswith 211 concentration and induced thermal dilatation stresses havethe most significant effect on the spacing and length of the oxygenationa/c-cracks in the sample with optimized trapped field properties.
