Abstract

Abstract The structures of piezoelectric ceramics with the composition of Cr-doped Pb(ZrxTi1−x)O3 were studied by XRD and TEM. The co-existence of the tetragonal and rhombohedral phases was observed in the region 0.52<x<0.59. The measurement of lattice parameters showed that the coexisting phase was separated to the further two regions. One of regions is appeared in 0.5<x<0.56 (A region), in which the lattice parameters nearly remain nearly constant, and another is appeared in 0.56<x<0.59 (B region), in which the lattice parameters gradually change with the parameter x. In TEM study, the region A consists of each single phase grains of tetragonal and rhombohedral, and the region B consists of single phase grains of rhombohedral and mixed phase grains of tetragonal and rhombohedral.
