Abstract

Abstract In order to investigate the bulk contribution to the global PTC effect encountered in doped BaTiO3, the four probes electrical resistance of a few grains has been measured from room temperature up to 180°C using photolythography. The results show that, with a decrease of the investigated area, the phase transition within the bulk, characterized by an abrupt step of resistance, gives an non negligible contribution to the PTC effect observed in those samples around the Curie temperature.
