Abstract
First-principle optical potentials and DW inelastic transition amplitudes to the J π = 1 +, T = 0, 1 states of 12C are studied using an energy- and density-dependent nuclear matter reaction matrix as effective interaction which is based on the Paris potential. The analysis covers existing data for angular distributions of differential cross sections, polarizations, analysing powers, polarization and analysing power differences and spin-flip probabilities between 122 and 400 MeV. We stress in this work the capabilities of calculations involving no adjustable parameters. The calculations presented herein are a case study and status report of proton-nucleus scattering at medium energies.
