Abstract

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of small,non-encoding,endogenous RNA molecules of about 21-25 nucleotides (nts) in length.By binding to their target messenger RNAs (mRNAs),miRNAs may posttranscriptionally regulate gene expression via inducing the degradation or translation suppression of mRNAs in various species, tissues and diseases.Recent studies have shown that miRNAs play pivotal modulatory roles in skin development and are implicated in many skin diseases, tumor, and wound healing.Further investigation into the relationship between miRNAs and wound healing may provide new ideas and targets for the treatment of cutaneous wounds.
