Abstract

microRNAs (miRNAs) are small, non-coding and single-stranded RNAs involved in post-transcriptional gene silencing. Their binding to the 3' UTR of target mRNAs influences the translation or stability of transcripts. R has been shown that miRNAs can regulate many developmental and physiological processes. Recent studies on miRNAs and skin diseases have revealed that miRNAs are correlated with skin tumors, inflammatory diseases, autoimmune diseases, and skin wound henling. Novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies may develop for these skin disorders in further study on the relationship between miRNAs and skin diseases. Key words: MicroRNAs; Skin diseases; Wound healing
