Abstract

MicroBooNE is an experiment which will run in the Booster Neutrino Beam at Fermilab and is meant, predominantly, to investigate the low energy excess found by MiniBooNE in a νe appearance experiment. It will use a liquid argon TPC for its very good electron/photon discrimination capabilities. It will also address the LSND anomaly and measure neutrino cross sections on liquid argon. In addition it is meant as an R&D vehicle for larger liquid argon detectors planned for future experiments.
