Abstract
The X-ray crystal structure of (3S,4R)-3,4-dihydroxy-5-(3-hydroxyphenyl)-5-cyclohexen-1-one, C 12 H 12 O 4 , was determined and showed that the molecule consists of a conjugated cyclohexenone ring substituted by two hydroxyl groups and a 3-hydroxyphenyl group.
