Abstract

Global food insecurity, rising hunger indices, and geopolitical crises have spurred scientific exploration for solutions. The dual challenge of conserving biomass while increasing production has motivated researchers to turn to microbes and microbial cultures as alternative resources. Microbes play a pivotal role in biogeochemical cycles, food security, and crop productivity. This abstract explores three major aspects of microbial involvement in these challenges: microbial predominance on crop productivity, microbes and nutraceutical food security, and the role of microbes in biogeochemical cycles.
