Abstract
Silica gels and aerosilogel of different starting porous structures were modified with water vapour, aliphatic alcohols, propionic acid and with the mixture of water and individual organic substances. The effect of temperature and composition of modifying mixture, as well as of mode of carrying out the process, on the parameters of the starting adsorbents have been investigated. Possibilities of easy and gentle regulation of silica gels porous structure have been demonstrated. The mechanisms of geometrical and chemical modification of silica adsorbents are discussed.
