Abstract

Chromatographic separation of two-block copolymers according to composition has been treated theoretically. The copolymer was modelled by a Gaussian chain consisting of two blocks which differed in the energy of interaction with the surface of a slit-like pore. The partition coefficients have been derived in dependence on the energy of interaction between the polymer and the adsorbent and on pore width for copolymers of different length and composition. Critical conditions have been found for copolymers in narrow-pore sorbents and values of the partition coefficient have been derived.
