Abstract

The methods of measurement and interpretation of thermostimulated depolarization currents and electrical conductivity of polymer mixtures were studied using the example of mixtures of LDPE with a formaldehyde-dioxolane copolymer. The electrical conductivity of the copolymer-LDPE blends with ⪆80 wt.% of copolymer has the character of thermoactivated electronic conduction in the range of high electric fields. The anomalous lowering of specific volume conductivity of mixtures at low contents of one of the components is probably caused by an increase in the potential barrier at the metal-dielectric boundary and limiting by space charge. When LDPE is blended with the copolymer, additional anomalies appear on the thermograms in the range of segmental mobility of the copolymer.
