Abstract
ABSTRACT Histologic stains can be employed to study the general chemical nature of organic particles in marine sediments. Procedures are outlined for using periodic acid-Schiff, mercuric bromphenol blue and Sudan Black B to stain carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids respectively.
