Abstract
The article deals with the introduction of game-based pedagogical technologies. The essence of game technologies is substantiated, the functions of the educational game are shown, the peculiarities of using game-based learning technologies in the process of forming the competences of future electrical engineers are identified. A significant place is given to the author's development of a methodology and software package for game-based learning and testing for electric power engineers. The development is based on modern knowledge in the field of electric power engineering and engineering pedagogy. A specific form of implementation of this project is presented - the test game “Professional”. The main characteristics of the computer programme and requirements for computer software are considered. The development implements a new methodology of game-based training and testing of electricians and can be used at all stages of training of an electrical engineer. The purpose of the development is to intensify and improve the efficiency of the educational process through the introduction of new teaching technologies.
