Abstract
With the rapid development of information technology and global economy, many prominent changes had occurred at the area of international trade in the last three decades of the 20th century. One of the most important changes is to appear the innovative production mode: information technology outsourcing (ITO) on the basis of labor division inside the world. ITO can help the companies to seek a more efficient allocation of resources reduce costs and improve efficiency in worldwide. Especially for China, now China has become the world’s second-largest ITO base which is next only to India. However, both theoretical research and practical operations of Chinese ITO is still in the early stage of growth. In this instance, this paper presents an overview of ITO from a statistical analysis perspective, with a goal of providing useful advice and references to the development of Chinese ITO industry. We present a taxonomy of ITO, and identify related themes and recent advances. We also describe its mechanism, process, risk, decision-making strategy.
