Abstract

The article deals with the problem of developing the creative abilities of novice pianists through playing the instrument. It is noted that in music schools of modern China there is a lack of methodological support for the educational process in the context of promoting children’s music making as a method of creative education of students. From these positions, the author of the article analyses the structure and content of the textbook complex “New Path Piano Basic Course”, which is an effective set of various forms and methods of the initial stage of teaching the basics of music making. The publication includes a concentrated presentation of the fundamental concepts and systems of musical art, various exercises and tasks, performing repertoire, musical terminology, sight-reading, accompaniment and improvisation. The philosophy of this textbook is to focus on developing children’s perception of music and creative thinking, enjoying the performance of works of various eras, styles, forms and genres.
