Abstract
The article examines the methodological approaches to the assessment of regional development of RD. In principle, it can be said that Dagestan has significant potential for regional development. However, the current state and development of the economy indicates the complete absence of any coordinated policy of the federal and regional authorities to regulate the development of this sector of the regional economy.
