Abstract

Traffic simulation modelling is becoming a widely used tool in the field of transportation research. Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) allow us to obtain and process data in real time. The paper presents a mathematical model of traffic flow distribution in urban networks that is able to solve transportation problems in dynamic mode. A method of finding the optimal parameters for a signalized network using the dynamically updated initial values is substantiated. The paper also proposes algorithms for online determination of the optimal signal phase intervals for providing green time oscillation in the conditions of constraint congestion when the intersection capacity does not meet the volume of traffic
