Abstract

Abstract Metal pretreatment is a process by which metal surfaces are chemically transformed to provide improved corrosion protection and adhesion of subsequent coatings or adhesives. The metal pretreatment process consists of multiple steps and can vary significantly depending upon the metal substrate and technical requirements. A brief overview of each step in the metal pretreatment process and several technical requirements are described.
