Abstract

This paper reports synthesis and characterization of an interesting multidentate ligand based on the heterocyclic piperazine ring. This ligand has been designed to show the potential for metal complexation and applications toward different biological targets with desired functionality. In this regard, we prepared copper metal complex of this ligand and tested for their action with various biological applications such as antibacterial, antioxidant, BSA binding, DNA binding and cytotoxicity. Complex was moderately bioactive and shows slightly different mode of binding with biomolecules. Theoretical binding interpretation with these biological targets also have been explored with docking studies.
