Abstract

The laser ablation of solid targets made of mixtures of simple components yields cluster ions of various composition. In this paper, positive cluster ions formed by laser ablation of metal oxide and graphite systems are reported. The formation of Me m C n + cluster ions indicate a chemical reaction in the surrounding area hit by the laser beam.
