Abstract
The metadata structure required for information on a condition of the environment is analyzed. Metadata are organized as several systems: the integrated database “Oceanography”, as data storehouse; the CD-ROM on “information resources and production” for distribution; and as metadata on Web sites. Metadata are used for the development of integrated technologies for environmental monitoring and information production. The directory on “information resources and productions of Russia” is presented.
