Abstract
The study aimed to identify the thinking methodology of Ali Alwardi in his book "A Sociological Analysis of ibn Khaldun's Theory A study in Sociology of Knowledge". To achieve this goal, the study followed the descriptive-analytical approach, through an analytical reading of what Alwardi wrote in this book in the context of the concept of metacognition, which is practically represented in answering three questions: questions of understanding, solution, and connection. The study showed the extent to which the methodology of Alwardi’s answer agrees with those metacognitive questions, and this in turn provides us with a mature model of thinking to deal with issues and problems that can be added to the scientific heritage presented by Alwardi. The study recommended further research regarding the concept of metacognition, in addition to the importance of addressing this topic in a practical way through the analytical reading of the scientific production in this context.
