Abstract

The results of investigation of glycosaminoglycans in blood serum and urine of children with chronic constipations are presented in this article. Prevalence of chronic constipation in children is from 0,7% to 29,6%. The aim of the work presented was to determine the level of sulfatized glycosaminoglycans (sGAG) in blood serum and urine of children with constipation. 33 children aged 4–14 suffering from chronic constipation were examined. Glycosaminoglycans determination was made by immunoenzyme analysis. The diagnosis of dysplasia symptoms was based on the table of modified diagnostic signs by G.V. Arsentiev. The elevation of serum concentration of sGAG in chronic constipations was established. But gender differences in blood serum and urine excretion of sGAG was not detected. Regardless of chronic constipation duration sGAG concentration in blood serum was higher than control parameters.
