Abstract
Experimental studies have shown that in pure xylene the parallel and perpendicular components of the 995,2 cm-1 band are shifted by 0.9 cm-1 relative to each other, the anisotropic component is shifted toward higher frequencies. The half-width of this band is 3.8 cm-1 . To achieve these goals, the behavior of the spectral lines of 995,2 cm-1 xylene in solutions with nitromethane was studied. It can be seen from the figure that a maximum of 1.5 times the maximum of the spectrum with respect to pure xylene with a solution of xylene with nitromethane at a concentration of 0.5 mole fraction. Calculations showed that the monomeric molecule 1019.8 cm-1 is complex, and when forming dimers it must split into two bands 1068.1 cm-1 and 1101.9 cm-1
