Abstract

Using symmetry, qualitative analyses of g-shift data for the (Se,Se) + deep level in Si, and the general features of the electronic structure of Si, we find the mesobonding model of (Se,Se) substitutional pairs in Si to be preferred over the ordinary model -- without relying on any detailed model Hamiltonian.
