Abstract

An extended meshless approach for wall-modelling in Large-Eddy Simulation of incompressible flows that may take into account several terms of Navier–Stokes equations (the pressure gradient, the unsteady term, buoyancy effects, …) is presented. The method is based on an analytical integration of the momentum equations along the normal direction to the wall. After a detailed description of the algorithm, the present approach is applied to a two-dimensional periodic hill flow at a bulk Reynolds number of 7100. It is shown that taking into account the instantaneous pressure gradient has no effect on the mean values of the velocity. However, a substantial improvement is obtained concerning the rms values.
