The most noticeable changes are in the opening chapters, which are a quick reference guide for the diagnostic approach to common neurological symptoms. The thirteenth edition opens with a new epidemiological discussion of the burden of neurological disease, which frames the importance of the chapters ahead. The following chapter, “Approach to the Neurologic Patient”, now includes detailed instructions for testing all aspects of neurological function.
