Men in the Media — A Review: 1980–2001

Abstract

As outlined in Chapter 1, feminists focused on mass media as one of the key battlegrounds in their struggle for independence, equality, rights and respect. A large body of research exists on the portrayal and treatment of women in mass media. This study cites only a few examples as the focus here is men and male identity.
