Abstract

This article aims at making a comparative analysis between two different forms of narrating the experience of living in the Angolan guerrilla movement established by the Movimento Popular de Libertacao de Angola (the MPLA, the Popular Angolan Liberation Movement). The first narrative is the autobiography by Cesar Augusto Kiluanji, TrajectOria da Vida de um Guerrilheiro, relating to the period when the author lived with an MPLA guerrilla unit, and published in 1990. The counterpart in this task consists of the February 13, 1995 interview in Angola with General Benigno Vieira Lopes, also a long-time MPLA fighter.
