Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of book topic 3 “Objects around me” of third grade students at SDN Gondek using a direct method. Class Activities Research (PTK) was conducted in her four cycles including observation, testing, and questionnaires as data collection tools. Early observations indicated that students had difficulty understanding the material, and this became the basis for using direct methods as an improvement effort. This cycle consists of planning, execution, evaluation, and reflection. Student learning outcome data is analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively and presented in graphic, tabular, and descriptive formats. The research results showed that students' learning outcomes improved significantly after using the direct method. The conclusion of this study positively contributes to the improvement of students' understanding of the topic. It is hoped that this research will serve as a reference for teachers, schools, and other researchers in developing effective learning methods. Furthermore, this study also provides a basis for further research on the development of learning methods to improve the quality of education in primary schools.
