Abstract
AbstractThe magnetic field generated in a plasma due to the irradiation of a Gaussian laser beam is estimated, taking into consideration the self‐focusing effect of the laser. It is found that a self focusing of the beam propagating in a plasma increases the magnitude of the magnetic field and it is comparable with the measured values.
