Abstract

The Japan Society for Laser Surgery and Medicine (JSLSM) was founded on November 16, 1979 by Kazuhiko Atsumi, Emeritus Professor, The University of Tokyo (the Honorary President of JSLSM, Fig. 1 left) and his colleagues. The first annual meeting of JSLSM was held in November, 1980. This Society has a total of more than 1,200 members and the present President is Prof. Kinya Furukawa, Tokyo Medical University Ibaraki Medical Center (Fig. 1 right). The official journals of JSLSM are the Journal of JSLSM (in Japanese) and Laser Therapy (in English). Fig. 1: Left: Kazuhiko Atsumi, Emeritus Professor, The University of Tokyo and Honorary President of JSLSM The 36th Annual Meeting of JSLSM has held in Utsunomiya, Tochigi prefecture (Fig. 2) on 24th and 25th of October, 2015 under the guidance of its President, Prof. Tetsuya Nakamura, Dokkyo Medical University (the Vice President of JSLSM, Fig. 1 middle). The theme of this meeting was ‘Diagnosis and treatment using light’ and the outline was as follows.
