Medical Service Experience Model for Medical Cosmetology
With the implementation of the Nation Health Insurance in 1995, all levels of medical institutes were influenced by the constraint of government budget that resulted in a high degree market orientation. Also, medical cosmetology had grown up very fast during these years. Because medical cosmetology is mostly consumer's initiative, the importance of medical service experience must be particularly emphasized. The purposes of this research include: (1) to discuss the relationships among consumer experiences, experiential value and experiential behavior; (2) to build Medical Service Experience Model (MSEM) for medical cosmetology. We used purposed sampling to interview 1040 samples with medical cosmetology experience and used structural equation modeling to analyze data. The results showed that Medical Service Experience Model (MSEM) could explain the relationships among consumer experiences, experiential value and experiential behavior more completely. In practice, this study can help medical institutions with medical cosmetology services understanding consumers' whole feels and use appropriate marketing tools to enhance consumer experiences.

Cultivating specialists in nursing cosmetology is the goal of Department of Cosmetic Science at the Chang Gung Institute of Technology. In order to combine cosmetics skills with medical cosmetology, a blemish-concealing practice course was added to the 2008 academic-year curriculum. Blemish-concealing mainly aims at hiding damage and marks on the face, as well as congenital skin defects. Since such a course is new in Taiwan and the literature is very limited, the department obtained support from CGIT to arrange a tour group of 15 people, including teachers and students, to visit the Social Beauty Care Center of Shiseido in Japan. The visit focused on the research of skin beautification, face-painting, concealing, and clinical strategy promotion. The results of the research serve as a reference to improve teaching methods and to strengthen the blemish-concealing practice course. Similarly helpful is the discussion on the differences between the training courses in Taiwan and Japan. Furthermore, through the fusion of blemish concealing, painting skills, and the medical system, better service can be provided for patients suffering from face damage or skin defects in order to help them feel positive about their appearance and to adapt to society.

The cosmetic measures of humans emerged very early. As far back as the late Palaeolithic age related cosmetic decorations came into being. In the Shang and Zhou dynasty, there were already cosmetic people who applied rouges and powders. In the Spring and Autumn dynasty and Warring States periods, because of the increase awareness of aesthetic enjoyment and the prevalence of attention paid to cosmetology, people began to discuss aesthetics. The development of TCM also caused the fusion of the cosmetology and TCM. The records of the early ancient literature such as Shan Hai Jing and silk scrolls of Ma Wang Dui reflected the overview of TCM cosmetology in pre-Qin dynasty.

The purpose of this study is to survey the inhibition activities of Synsepolun dulcificum on human cancer cells, especially on skin cancer. The fruit of S. dulcificum was extracted with methanol (MeOH) and CHCl3 respectively, and evaluate their effects on inhibiting human cancer cells. This was the first time to analyze the bioactivities of this plant species. The data of antiproliferative effects of S. dulcificum extracts on human skin, liver, lung, prostate, cervical, bone bladder, and breast cancer cell lines were also investigated. Interestingly, through MTT cell viability assay, S. dulcificum extracts showed strong inhibition activities only on the proliferation of melanoma cell lines. We detected their inhibition effects on various human cancer cells and found extracts of S. dulcificurn showed strong inhibition activities. Its IC50 is 72.7/49.4 t g/ml on skin cancer cells (A375.S2/MeWo). From these experiments, we believed that extracts from S. dulcificum were potentially potent new medical cosmetology agents, with anti-skin cancer activities.
