Abstract
By the time Ken Wardrop’s 2009 film His & Hers received its Irish cinema release on 18 June 2010, there had already been considerable industry anticipation about the film. In May 2009, it won the 5th US Distributors Showcase, the Directors Finders Series 2009, which enabled the film to get a screening with a number of key US distributors and filmmakers (Wardrop & Freeman, 2009). The film also went on to have a successful festival season. It garnered many accolades, including the Feature Award in the Galway Film Fleadh (July 2009), where the film also had its debut (Whitaker, 2009), the Audience Award at the Dublin International Film Festival, the Cinematography Award at the Sundance Film Festival and the George Morrison Feature Award for Best Documentary at the Irish Film and Television Awards (Element Pictures, 2010).
