Abstract

The article reveals the peculiarities of the impact of media information on the socialization of preschool age children. The author gives a retrospective analysis of the scientists’ attitudes to this problem and considers the concept of «computer technologies», «media information», «mass media», «media education». In today’s realities, mass media is a modern way of transferring knowledge, which corresponds to a qualitatively new content of teaching, development and socialization of a preschool age child. It is mentioned that this method allows a child with an interest to study, to find sources of media information, to raise autonomy, responsibility in obtaining new knowledge and to develop the discipline of intellectual activity. Today, media information is not only the main source of information about what is happening around but also acting as one of the most important institutes of socialization of the young generation. The author describes psychological regularities and peculiarities of developing a child’s consciousness in the context of the impact of media information. The forms of impact the media information makes on the socialization of the younger generation are distinguished. The article represents the main aspects of personal character traits of the younger generation, which are brought up under the impact of mass media. The advantages of the spread of computer technology mentioned and their negative impact on children which include the following: virtual education, mobile phones, radios, online auctions, a new subculture that emerged on the Internet.
