Abstract
The Media Coding Industry Forum (MC-IF) was formed in September 2018 after several months of preparatory activities. With a fundamental goal of complementing Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG)’s technical work, the MC-IF has quickly become the focal point for discussions around deployment and licensing of the upcoming next-generation video coding standard, versatile video coding (VVC). The MC-IF gathers industry leaders from the entire media technology ecosystem and currently includes more than 30 member organizations.
