Abstract

Pulse photolysis and dilatometry were used to study the mechanism of photopolymerization of methacrylic esters—methylmethacrylate and butylmethacrylate initiated by benzophenones. The kinetic system of the mechanism is described and the rate of photopolymerization calculated. It was shown that equations for the rate of photopolymerization derived using the kinetic system proposed are in satisfactory agreement with experimental results obtained.
