Abstract
The carbonylation of piperidine with carbon monoxide in the liquid phase, at 220° and 100 atm.in the presence of transition-metal salts, I2, or Fe(CO)5 is inhibited by an excess of these compounds, and is a conjugated oxidation-reduction reaction that bears a chain character.
