Abstract

1. Dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate (DMAEM) is oxidized by the radical-chain mechanism with a squared termination of the chains. Chain propagation is accomplished predominantly via the aminoperoxide, and not the polyperoxide radical. 2. The absolute rate constants for chain propagation and termination in DMAEM when it is oxidized were measured.
