Abstract
Cineangiography showed that for the ascending thoracic aorta of 25 patients, under normal conditions of pulse pressure, the pressure strain elastic modulus (Ep), the modulus of elasticity (E θ ), and the pulse wave velocity (c) were 30% smaller in magnitude than previously reported results obtained using surgical strain gauge techniques. The results agree well with those reported by other investigators who have used non-invasive measurement techniques.
