Abstract
In this paper a test device is introduced which can give self-explanatory hoop strength by exertion of combined stent force and a hydraulic pressure on an elastic tube. Comparison with results from other test methods such as flat-plate compression and wrap-around collar test showed that this is a reliable and automatic approach to stent characterization in the biomechanical environment.
