Abstract

This article presents, in a simple and objective way, the dimension of elections in Brazil and the structure of the Electoral Justice, the body responsible for administering the voter register and all acts relating to the exercise of citizenship through suffrage. The purpose of the text is to discuss the monitoring mechanisms aimed at preventing the abuse of economic power in electoral financing. Parity of arms and balance between the candidates are important premises for ensuring the democratic legitimacy of the electoral result.
