Abstract

This research employs the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to explore how Chinese college students respond to using a mobile app (Duolingo) for learning English. The aim is to analyze the connections between TAM factors and the utilization of the mobile app (Duolingo) in English learning. The research involved 98 second-year students majoring in non-English subjects who adopted a blended learning approach for English. The findings reveal a strong positive link between the practical use of the mobile app (Duolingo) and students’ attitudes and intentions. Additionally, computer self-efficacy is positively correlated with variables like perceived usefulness (PU), actual use, perceived ease of use (PEU), attitudes, and intentions. Notably, there is no observed link between gender, experience, and the model variables.
