Abstract

Introduction: The health benefits of physical activity are well established, and among children, participation in organised sport is a common form of physical activity. However, for some children, becoming injured and/or concerns about injury risk may impact on participation levels or choice of sport. To date, there have been no validated measures to assess the impact of children's injury risk perceptions and their injury history on their choice of, and participation in, sport. The aim of this study was to develop and assess a valid and reliable survey instrument for this purpose.
