Abstract

Abstract A method for predicting the phase behavior of petroleum fractions using equations of state is proposed. The procedure is tested on binary mixtures and on real petroleum fractions. The experimental data used for the comparison are Henry's constants as determined by GLC measurements. The performances of cubic and non cubic equations of state in predicting multicomponent data are compared. The equation of state based on the Perturbed Hard Chain Theory gives excellent results in the predictions of Henry's constants of light gases in petroleum fractions.
