Abstract

The size distributions of radon and thoron daughters and the total aerosol in a Canadian uranium mine were measured with diffusion batteries. The activity median diameters of radon daughters and thoron daughters ranged from 0.065 µm to 0.11 µm with geometric standard deviations of 1.45 to 2.73. The total aerosol size distribution had a count median diameter of about 0.1 µm and a geometric standard deviation of between 1.4 and 2.5. Data obtained include relative humidity, total aerosol concentration and temperature.
