Abstract

We report a measurement of the energy dependence of the branching ratios for autoionization of the (6${\mathit{p}}_{1/2}$ns${)}_{\mathit{J}=\mathit{M}\mathit{J}}$=1 state of barium into the 6${\mathit{p}}_{1/2}$\ensuremath{\epsilon}l continuum channels by monitoring the polarized residual ion fluorescence signals. This measurement shows good agreement with a recent R-matrix calculation.
