Abstract

Kalpha 2 and Kbeta 2 X-ray fluorescence cross sections have been theoretically calculated for ten elements with 73<or=Z<or=82 at an excitation energy of 121.9 keV of gamma rays from the 57Co radioisotope. For six out of these ten elements, measurements of these cross sections were carried out at the same excitation energy. A comparison between the experimentally measured and the corresponding available theoretical values showed that they agreed rather well with each other; the obtained deviations were within the uncertainties of the measurements.
